Melody Stowe Bianchetto, a Certified Public Accountant, was named the Vice President for Finance at the University of Virginia in 2015. She oversees financial operations (accounting, financial reporting, procurement, and payroll), financial planning & analysis, training & compliance, student financial services, and business intelligence.
Melody is a member of the President’s Executive Cabinet and serves as a mentor for both UVA staff in the Cornerstone Program and UVA students in the Meriwether Lewis Institute. She began her UVA career as a budget analyst in 1996, after working in public accounting at EY in Washington, D.C. and Henderson & Everett, PC in Charlottesville.
Melody earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Virginia and a Master of Business Administration from James Madison University. She is an active member of Virginia’s Council of State Senior Business Officers, presents regularly at national and regional conferences on higher education finance and management, and received NACUBO's Rising Star Award in 2014.
Melody is a trustee of the College Foundation of the University of Virginia, on the Board of Directors of the Eastern Association of College and University Business Officer (EACUBO), and serves as the treasurer for the Virginia Network for Women in Higher Education and the World Peace Game Foundation.
Melody is married to Dennis Bianchetto, with two teenage daughters, Kathleen and Julia.
